No, no chime! I forgot to mention this. In fact, it is the thing that I found the most dismaying. The sense of loss, the lack of that friendly, informative, melodious heralding of a session ... I feel, quite glum for a while when I use the 7300 (a spare). But then, when the speakers beep and bong and ... well they are impressive and deep ... I cheer up.
