For anyone wanting to print from their mac to a non postscript printer attached to a windoze computer on your peer-to-peer network, I finally figured it out (with the help of miramar's site).

They have a file in their utility directory (Miramar) called GSdirector. You load it on your windoze network and then download and install ghostscript (you can even download the actual ghostscript program through GSdirector.

You install both, then start a print server on the windoze side through Miramar's print server program. You tell it to print to a postscript file and then point it at a directory to save in. Then you set up GSdirector, also on the windoze side. It's sole purpose is to monitor your spool directory and see if anything is there to print. Once it finds something, it calls ghostscript to print it.

An included ppd file lets your mac network see the "ghostscript" printer and print postscript to it through the laserwriter printer driver.

I printed a couple of documents today and it was a fairly seamless operation. I printed colour photos and text, with no problems so far.

Hope it stays that way. I have not been able to print to my photosmart 7350 on the dark side any other way and a few calls for help on lem lists have gone unanswered, so I hope this might help others in this situation.
