The usual voltage for a new battery is 3.68 volts (nominal is 3.6 volts). A machine will usually become flaky at 3.2 volts, and will usually be very flaky at 3.0 volts. A battery which measures 3.0 volts or less should be considered "dead". Some PRAM settings might remain "persistent" below 3.0 volts, but there will usually be some tell-tale problems, like the E-net connection being hung, or other problems perhaps related to the clock or the printer. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
