I bought a dual reader from SanDisk, which says it is compatible with Macs running OS 9.1, as my Mac does. I installed the software, plugged it in, and restarted the computer. And this is what I got: The Finder quits on start-up.
If I unplug the reader, the computer starts up just fine.
Plug it in, restart it, and the Finder quits again.
Any ideas what I should do?
Does it work if you plug it in after booting?
I suspect either the drivers were the wrong or old version (check sandisk's site), the installer installed old Apple USB drivers, or the hardware itself is messed up. My 6-in-1 reader, though not from Sandisk, didn't need drivers at all.
