Get a G4 if you are determined to use the latest software... There is no
other satisfactory way unless you want to play at running these for the fun
of it... (fun is OK, of course :)

(I used a fancy ibook with X and 1.2 GHz and latest Photoshop on a recent
holiday and it took ages to do things that I could have done on my 7600 in
9.1 and PS 5 much easier and quicker. There is nothing particularly valuable
about something new for its own sake. The overhead for X and latest PS are
such that the miserable 256 MB of RAM this ibook had was manifestly
inadequate. I shudder to think what I would do if I HAD to use X and "the
latest" software on my 7600. BTW, my Ford is yet another year older now, 35
years and it went hundreds of miles recently at high speed, noisily and
hotly, no trouble. Did I care that the modern trucks were keeping up with
me, even passing me? I will ask my shrink if I cared deep down...)
