I just installed a Tempo UATA66 PCI card in my PM8600/G3. I bought a
new Maxtor 40 Gig HD, and installed it. I tried to partition it, and
format it as HFS+ (Mac OS Extended), but when I did, I got a "system
error" message. I restarted and got the re-initialize prompt. When
I select Mac OS Standard, it will initialize, but it won't do a thing
(except give the system error message) if I go for Mac OS Extended.
I'd prefer to go with Extended, but am I out of luck? Have I missed
something simple?
Thanks for any help you can give.
