Greetings!

I hope you'll forgive the cross-posting, but I wasn't sure which lists this question applied to.

I have a beige G3 mini-tower (300 mHz, ROM Rev. B) running OS 9.2, which I am trying to set up with a PCI USB 1.0 card. I have tried two different PCI USB cards, both of which were advertised as Mac-compatible.

The problem is that, while Apple System Profiler "sees" the USB card, nothing happens when I plug a USB device into the card. This happens regardless of whether the device is a mouse, a USB flash drive, or a USB hard drive. The device won't work or mount, and doesn't show up in ASP.

I tried using the extensions in the Apple USB Adapter software from Apple's downloads site, which appear to be merely previous versions of various USB extensions (v. 1.4), but that didn't work either.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Fr. Rob Johansen

Hi

Have you installed the drivers?

If you do a custom install from your 9.2 CD, you should be able to just install the USB card support software only.

Have Fun
