I yanked some PC100 DIMMs out of my wife's B&W G3 and put them into her 500 Mhz Sawtooth AGP Graphics G4 tower.
Both computers use PC100 DIMMs but the ones from the G3 do not work in the G4. It will not start up at all with the G3 RAM chips in it. It won't even try to start up !!
Just had the same experience myself; it's something about the finer points of the specification.
Now I see someone selling PC100 DIMMs that he says will work in both.
There are ones that'll work in both AFAIK, but see advice below...
How can I tell which PC100 DIMs will work in the G4 tower ??
Buy them from a reputable vendor that guarantees they'll work. I use Data Memory Systems <http://www.datamem.com> for all my memory needs Mac or PC.
