This latter is not normally correct at all. If you have your directory in list view and file/print window, it will print all the contents of the window and all the contents of all the folders that are opened (arrow down) no matter that they do not fit on screen. I have just done it in 9.1 and do it all the time... All image files are evident as well as all else... You must click the arrows and arrange things how you want to see them in print. And remember that if you have too many options ticked in view options you might not get the width of the window view printed on one page. But your printer should be able to produce all.
