It helps to have later browsers and these do require a bit more memory, speed, HD space... The rate of info coming in from outside might not vary that much on your line, it is the processing, rendering, executing of things that can be improved with upgrades of cpu, ram, hd space and speed (for caching and retrieving uses like back button, saves and stuff)
