My Laserwriter has been dormant for about two years and once I pulled
it off the floor it didn't start. Luckily, I pulled a power cord from
an SE/30 that wasn't working and it started up. But it's print quality
is awful with this sort of ghost image down the page and a continual
black shading in the back ground. I think it could be fixed with a new
toner cartridge but is their any other way to fix it.

I have had similar problems with various laser printers over the years and frequently printing anywhere from 20-50 blank pages can cure this type of problem. I know this is environmentally unsound, but it is a better environmental option than just trashing the toner cartridge if it fixes the problem.
