Hiya I have a g3 accelerated (newertech) powermac 8500 with 512mb of rame and running os9.1.
I'm trying to attach a 36gb, sca Hitachi/ibm ultrastar drive: It's this one: IC35L036UCDY10 which is at: http://www.hitachigst.com/tech/techlib.nsf/products/Ultrastar_146Z10 it's not showing up on my scsi bus at all. I'm using an sca adaptor and I'm replacing a drive that is between my old boot drive and the cdrom on the scsi chain so it should be terminated at both ends right? This is all on the onboard 50pin scsi disk controller with the standard cable the mac ships with. Has anybody had any luck connecting a modern scsi drive to the old 8500 disc controller (or similar)? Has anyone had any luck using an sca adaptor? Would love to hear any tips, or even success stories, from anybody who has done this. love Freya __________________________________________ Yahoo!
