Because most hosts have this little things about you using their servers as
nothing more than storage for outside use. The only way they have of
supporting their service, is by placing ads on your site. By linking to
pictures you have stored on the servers, you run the risk of having them
deleted, since they can't place adds on your pictures. You might get away
with it for a while, but eventually, the host will/may find out and you will
never know unless you happen to stop by.
