Lynda,
I use Nero and it works much better than Adaptec for me.
Use the Nero link below and you can D/L a trial copy.
I have both Easy CD Creator Adaptec, and Nero on my system, so you
don't need to worry about un-installing Adaptec, but since it's giving you
a problem, you might wish to uninstall it first..
