Since I am having my usual after-6-months-or-so-time-to-reinstall problems
with Windows 98 SE, I am tempted to bite-the-bullet and squeeze the wallet
and purchase Windows XP Professional Upgrade for $199. Since I want to back
everything up and reformat my hard drives before I do, I want to make sure I
can install the Upgrade version onto a blank hard drive as long as I have a
Windows 98 CD to feed it when requested (as the Windows 98 Upgrade CD's let
you). Can someone confirm that this can be done? I certainly don't want to
pay the extra for the full version!
