I don't use the automatic turn-on feature of ZA, preferring instead when I am away from the computer to simply "lock" ZA and keep out all traffic. It just requires bringing up ZA and unlocking when I return to work on the system.
Most of the popup complaints I have heard seem to involve one's own service sending them into your computer. PopUpKiller is free and pretty easy to temporarily disable when you are at a website that has popups that are necessary to using the website.
