YOU can get to it and I can (because we already have the updates installed), but no one can on a FRESH install, BARE NEW install of win98. This is win98, not SE or ME, just the first version of win98. I did finally find a link for IE5.01 SP 2 (which is the only version I use) but I must first find the service pack for win98. I even searched for 'windows 98 service pack' and only two hits showed, and MS idiots have the &&^%$# link bad!! the other 'hit' had absolutely NOTHING to do with win98 SP!! Their site is FULL of bad links for win98 updates!! You'd think they'd have the intelligence to get a webmaster. All I have been able to find so far is some page loaded with all sorts of garbage for EVERY version of '98, and it doesn't even have the SP for win98 on it!! I only see downloads for things that state: "PART of the win98 SP.....PART of the win98 SP.....and so on, and on and on...... I need to get to the page that is CUSTOM for every PC that visits the site, you know....when it "Scans" your PC to see EXACTLY what it NEEDS and you simply check the boxes for the updates you want, and it installs them all at once. THAT is the area that has the service pack(s) for win98. I Can't believe these jerks did this. This is really ticking me off....hours wasted on this already.
The link you gave does the exact same thing as the windows update icon shortcut in the start menu, it brings me to this oddball page......... "Thank You for your interest in Windows Update..... The Windows Update Web site no longer offers updates for your computer.
