The 4xdual format + / - DVD Burner should mean that it will at least read 
both DVD - RW and DVD + RW DVDs and it may also write both formats (you 
will have to read the specification closely as some of the "dual format" 
drive will only do the first).  And the 4x is the speed.

A 6 in 1 Card reader is an adapter, normally USB, that will allow you to 
read all 6 of the common flash memory/memory sticks for digital 
cameras.  (I use them for everything from file transfers between machines 
that aren't on a LAN to what they were designed for (downloading digital 
pictures off of the removable media from a digital camera).
