Tom, I have Verizon, much to my dismay, but they are the cheapest you can get. I never clocked the speed, but it is fast. Asking anyone else may not be comparable to your area as it is determined how far from the switching station your speed will be. Whatever your speed is, it will not change. Cable on the other hand, depends on how many subscribers are surfing, downloading, any given time in your area, so as more people subscribe, your speed slows down. I have also had people complain that they loose the cable signal, or it becomes pixelized when someone in the home is downloading.
