My issue with all of them. I think I removed WeatherBug for the spyware issue and may re-try it. is that they take up alot of RAM in the systray. I have tried all I could find, weatherpulse, The Weather Channel, WeatherBug (I think it had the lowest but spyware issues. I will re-try it again) and another new one I found. Why do they all take up (amounts change) 8-10 megs of ram in the systray?
Thank you,
Eric Vogel

One of our local television stataions uses it on their weather data for
the day. They have recruited a number of elementary schools to supply
information to the network and then they use that via Weatherbug for on
the air broadcasting. When I go to the setup, the number of schools as
an information source is quite extensive depending on how far from home
I want to be. I have used it for several years (in the freebie mode)
and every so often, have to select a new sponsor but that is the extent
of what I hear from them other than an occasional newsletter type ad
from Weatherbug for the paid version.

Helene,
Regarding the weather bug(since the original got deleted), I for one, am impressed that the guy wrote you
personally and also included his contact information.
I feel if there was spyware in the program, he would not have take the time to write.
Now, we all have his contact information so if their are any questions, they should be directed at him.
I know there are a lot of big corps, schools, that use the program. What programs do not track your
surfing? Very few.

Hi Tom. .
Never thought of it in those terms.. Thanks..
So, do we 'stop writing'.. do we 'look over our shoulders'.. It's crazy.. I
know.. but this letter from this guy come out of the blue.. and it really
upset me to think that I made a post. saying something, which I "knew to be
true". from other sources, Tech Lists.. etc.. and he wrote to me directly.

Hey, just realized, he can probably access the list- archives again.. UGH..
Okay, I'm not going to write anything, except Have a good day.. etc.. from
now to eternity.. Okay, I know I'm being silly.. but it does upset me. to
think that "big brother is watching". and you can bet from now on..I"ll send
someone else to buy my brand of toilet paper.<SMILE> Only kidding of
course.

I guess it's the same, with phone lines, cause I"ve been on a cordless
phone, and have been talking to a friend, and my friend and I have heard
every word. another person is saying.(crossed line). so we hang up.. So, I
know it can happen, where people can hear your conversation.. but hadn't
realized, (though, I should have).. that ANYONE at all can access anything
we write.. UGH.

Anyway, Thanks.. I guess it was a lesson for all to learn.. Be careful what
we write..
