?? If your PC says "restart", then RESTART! Why would you stop that? It
has to restart for a reason in order to complete the installation processes!
You're just asking for more problems if you just keep installing things and
don't restart when it says. The fact that the 250gb is scanning that much
faster that the smaller one is ANOTHER warning sign.

You mention errors, but you never say what they are. You're going to have to
ask AOL any AOL questions, or at least another AOL user. Obviously AOL is
installing Gator and Apropos since they are showing up right after a
reformat, and if you haven't installed anything else.

I just did, today....twice!! I no sooner finished copying my files
from the D drive back to the C when I decided to reboot so that some of the
stuff I just installed would take affect, I held off on rebooting everytime a
new
installation ocurred, figuring they could all take affect at the same time.
I
shut down and it restarted nicely, for about 5 seconds. All of a sudden it
went into Safe Mode, of all things. From that point onwards, I had to keep
rebooting every few seconds and I'd get the same error messages every time.
So I
decided to just go through installation all over again. I saw no other way
out of it.
I installed AOL and tried to put my old e-mails and what have you back
into the AOL file. It's the Organize, file, isn't it? Well, I tried 5 or 6
times, and each time, I STILL couldn't get my old mail to show up in the
filing cabinet. It's STILL not there. Any clues? I need a lot of these old
letters.
Well, here's the straw that broke the camel's back: yesterday the
anti-spy got up to about 19000. By my calculations it would take another
three
weeks for it to run it's course. All of a sudden I got 4 or 5 error windows
back to back, within about 2 minutes. I couldn't do a thing anymore, so I
shut
it off and restasrted. when I did, it was like, all of a sudden, I got my
computer back!! It stopped running slow, in some cases, and I could actually
use
this beast. I started to run anti-spy again and it ran with no problems at
all. In 10 minutes it was done and found two spies, the same two, Gator and
Apropos. Besides this, I began having trouble shutting it off!!
This morning I needed to scan a few records foir a bok I'm helping
someone write. I turned on the puter, is started you So I just decided it
was
time to reformat.
I'm exhausted right now and can't kep my eyes open, so I'm off.

You're wasting your time until you do that. That MIGHT map out the bad >

It doesn't really matter, I think I'm going to buy another new on
anyway. I've been thinking about making he D the master for some time now.
At
the moment, I can't. I have half of the drive full.

You'd think so, but the 250 goes light lightening and the 40 takes
forever. If I run AVG it automatically runs both back to back. In 15
minutes,
it's done!!!
