We had a terrible experience with Tiger Direct several years ago. The product (a computer) was defective and their customer service was worse.
We ended up having to refute the charge with the credit card company and got most of our $$ back. We were only out $65 in shipping charges. At the time, I read stories about folks who paid by check, received defective products and never saw their money again. Needless to say, I would never deal with them again.
