Hello Everyone, Just to let you know that I, too, receive some spam email, but lately, mostly w*o*r*m attached emails. Whether from this list, or from the one other list that I'm subbed to using this particular email addy, I really don't know. Both infestations seem to be running rampant with my yahoo email addy. My other email addies are free of any attacks. Thank goodness for AVG checking all incoming and outgoing for me.
Looking in the headers of such email... none seem to come "from" the same person, list or addy, so someone in email-land is happily passing these things around through either ignorance or deliberately. I use a number of lists with this address and I do not get any spam with it, unlike my previous address ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) which was circulated for 5 years. I've seen some discussions over harvesters being run on lists where owners have switched showing addresses in text over to showing them as graphics, I remember this list did it at one time, why it stopped I do not know. Perhaps Marlene can explain? Now many lists that use secure(?) archives where only subscribed members may access the messages have benefited from that as well. I am on a few lists with extremely high traffic in the 600 posts a day range and I do not receive spam from them or because of them, coincidentally they are all on yahoo groups (go figure). As with this list too, I do not get any spam, my spam filters at my email host are very active though not on this particular address. My email addys for web dev groups are spammed the most. You're quite diplomatic Clint, I would like to know if any other persons who do answer the questions also have spam problems with the list. Peter Kaulback No virus found in this outgoing message.
