MAS puts out more updates mostly daily, sometimes I get two per hour when I
tested the DEMO when it was GIANT. It did better than Adaware and Spybot.

Do not be surprised, as the PC Satisfaction team are working on something.
So my guess is you get MS AV (The one they bought out), MSA, and a backup
app for a monthly fee. I rather pay a small fee for something that is going
to work, then use two programs plus Geek-To-Super Hero to watch for changes.
I only hope there is an non AV and only MAS, because I have NIS 2005 which
has NAV 2005, why should I pay twice?

Please note, if Microsoft gave out MAS and AV, then it is anti-competitive
all over again. I agree it would be better for users if it was free and
bundled with Windows, but yet not squash the smaller companies.

Thank you,
Eric Vogel

Subject: Re: PCWorks: Re: M$'s new Anti-SpyWare software

I've been browsing the message boards here for the program:
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?ICP=spyware&sLCID;us

..and it appears that the program times out! I didn't notice it when I had
it installed, but there is an area that states when it expires, and the
release version may not be free. I don't see any point in paying for an
anti-malware program when so many of them, GREAT ones, are free. I fear
many will do something stupid and pay for it, then it will never be free.
If no one went and bought it, then M$ would be forced to reconsider charging
for it.

BTW, unfortunately that message board is pretty much useless if you want to
search, and who has the time to read every one of the thousands of posts.
Searching is the only way to find anything since many of the people there
are idiots using senseless subject lines like "error", "help", "please
help", etc., etc. The search function of course doesn't work! You click
"Search", a new window opens up where you set the search parameters.....and
that's it! No "search now" button or anything like that! [Enter] doesn't
do it. If anyone can figure out how it works, please post it.
