If she is graphically oriented, then I would strongly suggest the mac. my one son and I are pc users, but my Dau and my other son are dyed in the wool mac users. What I have seen from the two of them would put a pc to shame. My dau teaches high school theater and puts together movies of the season, both stills and vidoes. She does it with an easy click and drop into some of the standard mac software and produces videos that are really quite good. My one son who uses the mac uses it to edit both video and audio on a commercial basis. He designed and built the DVD mastering lab for a post production company in Los Angeles and most of the hardware was mac. For business, I would use the pc, but I am even considering the mac the next time around. there is a very good Windows emulator for the mac if you absolutely have to run some Windows software, and it works quite well. That combination would satisfy all my wishes and in addition, is considerably less at risk for the bugs coming across for windows and IE.

Howdy all,

Question. I have a friend who is considering a computer for his
wife. She is interested in art and graphics intensive stuff. I
suggested a Mac may be better for that kind of work. Anyone have
any direct experience? or recommendation?

I always use a PC, but have friends in the typesetting business,
etc. who prefer Macs.
