I have no direct experiences with Mac. However I do know that
most of your professional CGI and graphics studios use Macs.
That should tell you something. They are probably also more
stable, but you're usually going to pay a hefty price for them.
Also, you're going to be somewhat limited software wise with a
Mac, and there's only a few places where you can get Mac
hardware which is usually proprietary and also rather
expensive. If you've got the money, know you're only going to
be using it for certain software you know is available for the
Mac, and can accept that you're probably going to be limited
upgrade wise, then I say go with a Mac.

Howdy all,

Question. I have a friend who is considering a computer for
his
wife. She is interested in art and graphics intensive stuff.
I
suggested a Mac may be better for that kind of work. Anyone
have
any direct experience? or recommendation?

I always use a PC, but have friends in the typesetting
business,
etc. who prefer Macs.

Roger
