Hello,

Is their any trick to making a dual boot , Win2000 and Win98SE work?
The PC is an Athlon 1200 with an ASUS A7A266 mb, 512 DDR Ram.
I have 3 partitions on a 25 gig drive, all FAT32. I installed Win 2000 on
drive C:\ first.
That went OK and it worked. I then installed Win 98SE on drive D:\.
That went OK except when I boot up, it goes directly to Win 98 without
giving me a
choice of OS. Here's where I probably screwed up...I thought I would try to
fix it and used the "fix installation" option on the Win2000 install CD. I
went into that and selected "repair an installation" and then selected
"using the control console". I chose the command "fixboot" and ran it. It
did its thing and now when I boot up I get the choice of Win2000 or Win98,
with Win98 being the primary choice. If I pick Win 2000, it loads just fine.
If I pick, Win98, I get an I/O Error for the boot sector. I decided tonight
to reload Win 98SE on drive D:\ and have done that now. I'm back to the part
now of where it boots directly to Win98 without giving me a choice of OS. I
would like to be able to have a dual boot with Win 2000 being the primary
selection. Do I need to install some other boot manager? I figured the one
in Win 2000 would be able to handle this. Any thoughts appreciated...

Thanks,
Roger
