If you're just using IE on it, you don't need it.  Use the 
MSJVM (M$ Java virtual machine) instead of Sun (which I assume 
is what you mean).  If it's XP SP1a+, I think you have to 
install the MSJVM and I can send it to you if you need it.  Sun 
is needed for Mozilla based browsers (FF, Netscape, Mozilla). 
Having Sun load always is a waste.
