Hi Peter,
It is a HP...don't say it..I thought it was a good deal...and Dell has really 
lousy tech support.
Clint..yes this is Sun..but I still am asking, what is it for? Just being able 
to view certain web pages, 
or what?
I use Deepnet Explorer rather than Internet Explorer.
Deepnet is great as it remembers my log ins for each page..like for bill paying 
and has a built in pop-up 
blocker.

What brand of laptop Jeff?

I know some thinkpads sometimes come with the IBM JVM console but
haven't come across one with the console set to load, the JVM is part of
the system and runs in the background regardless of who makes it.
