TWELVE icons in the System Tray?? Wow Vern. I hope you have a fast CPU and a lot of RAM. :-) There has to be more than 5 things running if you have 12 icons in the tray. I would guess there's about 35 running.
You're looking in the wrong place. "Applications" is only things like OE and folders you have open. You need to look under "Processes", and look at the very bottom for the count. Then look at "Commit charge" and see what that says. How much RAM do you have? You probably don't even need half of what you have in the System Tray. People always think these things need to be running, but many of them don't. Now this message ironically doesn't always mean there's not enough memory, but it's a place to start. Unload things in the tray until you can delete the message, then that would tell you that it IS a memory issue. -Clint God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://OrpheusComputing.com ) http://ComputersCustomBuilt.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vern" < When I attempt to delete a message in OE6 it says it can't allocate memory. Says it is out of memory. I haven't had this since Win98. Anyone know what is wrong? Task manager "applications" says there are 5 things running. In the system tray I have 12 icons. I ususally have more and don't encounter this problem. Thanks Vern ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
