PCWorks: Outlook Express problems also

A friend of mine is using Outlook Express 6.  He is experiencing 
difficulty in opening some graphics - either he is getting the red x 
within a box - or he is unable to open some attachments.  Googling 
resulted in mostly unchecking the options on the security page for 
stopping attachments, etc., which I did.  I did a repair of IE, also 
scandisk and defrag.  Results were the same.  Any other solutions I 
missed in 407,00 hits from Google?
