Sue:
I have three of the APC units and they work great.
They come in different power sizes depending on
the power requirements of your computer and monitor.
I find them most useful at times when the power drops
off for a couple of milliseconds. This is long enough
to cause your computer to reset and lose the unsaved
material that you are working on. The power companies
feel free to cause these dropouts, with no apologies,
when they switch the circuits supplying your
power. The uninterruptable power supplies prevent
these dropouts from reaching your computer
because they react in milliseconds. They use their
built in battery to supply your computer with the
missing power.
