I will post my ipconfig file when I have a chance to fire up the laptop
(actually it is a Toshiba tablet). The wireless in it is internal.
However, I have the exact same problem with my wife's Dell Laptop that has a
PCMCIA wireless network card......

All the computers on the network are running Windows XP Pro SP2 with all
updates.

What OS is the laptop running? Post your ipconfig file /all so we can
see the settings when it's set up wirelesssly.
What wireless adapter? Have you looked for driver updates?
I'm doing something similar, but with Tivo, and I've only got 4000 MP3s,
but I can share photos as well.
