When I have just one phone connected to the phone line my
EarthLink DSL upstream speed is usually 1024 Kbps. When I
have two phones connected the upstream speed is 864 Kbps.
When I have no phones connected the upstream speed is, as I
remember, 1536 Kbps. I am using the DSL filters that came
with the EarthLink installation kit on each phone. I am also
using the DSL modem provided by EarthLink.

The upstream connection speed is also reduced by having the
phone line going through the protection circuit on the UPS I
have.

Is there a way I can obtain the 1536 Kbps upstream speed and
still have two phones connected to the phone line?

Can I purchase DSL filters that might be better than the ones
provided by EarthLink?

Would a different DSL modem give me better connection speed?

Would different phones perhaps not have an effect on the
upstream speed?

Thanks,

Tom
