I
guess I was seeing a lot of the emails come across about the behavior design
changes (a couple of emails about the tab order change, and some
about the changes in the glob.js size limit).
For
myself, for whatever reason, I'm seeing strange "behavior" changes with the PDF
I've created when viewing in full screen mode. There is a script that
checks for form navigation to make sure the user is using the forward and
backward buttons created on the form pages (since there are no toolbar buttons
shown full screen mode initially). When the PDF is viewed in full screen
(part of the PDF's desgin), for whatever reason a click ANYWHERE on the screen
seems to initiate the navigation check, and it immediately prompts the user to
use the form navigation. By design, this is what the navigation check
should do ONLY if a user were to try and use the page up down keys, or if they
got out of full screen view and tried using the page forward back buttons.
But, a simple click anywhere on the screen seems to inititate this
script.
It's
frustrating, and I'm not sure where the problem lies. Is it just on
Windows platforms; is it due to some _javascript_ change in the new 6.0 version;
is it something else not yet apparent? Who knows? I'm certainly not
going to spend hours looking for some fix for it since I'm swamped with other
projects and I really don't have the time for major code adjustments to the
form. The fact that it worked fine in Adobe 5.1 seems to indicate
that it is a bug with the new version.
For
now I do know the form works perfectly fine on the older 5.1 version so a simple
script check for the right version will suffice. If a user has 6.0 or some
really old version (3.0 or something), then they will be prompted to get the 5.1
version, and a link to the "old version" page of Adobe's site will be provided
(thanks for the links everyone!)
That's
my fix and till I have some time to work on it more, that's what I'll
use.

Well, I've been watching the forum for some time since the introduction of the new Adobe Acrobat 6.0 program and it seems the general consensus is that it is VERY buggy to date.Interesting, I haven't seen that at all. I have seen discussions about a number of changes in behavior, but all of which (except one concerning links) appears to be by design. Do you have any specific bugs, Brian??
