The PDF list is a service provided by PDFzone.com | http://www.pdfzone.com
__________________________________________________________________

We distribute groups of pdfs to customers who use a range of versions of
Acrobat Reader. Lets assume that they are only 5x and 6 even though some are
still 4x.
We have a Catalogue index open automatically with the first document in the
set. The home page if you will. Problem is that 6 won't open 5's indexes and
5 won't open 6's.

Is there a way of opening the correct index depending on what version of
Reader is being used to read the pdf?

While I am at it, is there a way of disabling the warning that comes up when
a user opens a 6.0 generated pdf in a lower version? (that is the warning
stating that the document made using a higher version and that the user
should upgrade). I can limit what functions are used so that the two are
compatible but our production environment is now 6.0 only. It would appear
that if you so much as open and save a pdf in 6.0 it causes this problem.

thanks

Mark
