This very interesting and demonstrates the chaos that seems to be inherent
with Adobe sw.

Indesign creates a native pdf and version 2 only supports 40 bit encryption.
Indesign CS supports 128 bit encryption. So does Acrobat 6 Pro (latest
version but no CS name).

One thing you could do is take the Indesign 2 pdf and rewrite it making use
of Acrobat 6 Pro. Maybe it reformats the pdf, but I am not sure. Another way
is to try the Adobe online pdf creation (5x free). But because Adobe has as
many pdf versions as they have sw packages I am not sure what the best way
is.

You should ask Adobe for help, but my experience is with doiing that, that
the most diffiult part of Adobe's helpfdesk is to find somebody who really
knows something about the issue.

Please post your findings and eventual solution if you find one.

Cheers,
Leon.

> Greetings,

> I'm exploring distributing our current and previous electronic
publications (created in InDesign and published as PDF files) at OverDrive's
Content Reserve. I submitted a sample PDF file only to have it rejected
because it was not compatible with Adobe Reader software.

> So far, I haven't been able to find out how PDF files can be converted to
"eBook" files per their requirements. InDesign 2.0 does not offer an option
under export and Acrobat 5.0 doesn't appear to have this option. OverDrive
said that I should contact an experienced eBook conversion house or Adobe
directly. Can anyone point me in the direction of software or a contact for
conversion?

Content Server?
