Hi, Thom, Thanks a lot! I think my question/subject is not clear. Sorry for that. Let me re-phrase my question. We have developed a PDF processing application using Adobe's PDF Library 5.0. We would like to run two or more instances of our application (multiple processes). Will there be any problem/issues in this scenario? Thanks again, Sridharan -----Original Message----- From: Thom Parker [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, February 16, 2004 8:45 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [PDFdev] Library in a multiprocessor environment? PDFdev is a service provided by PDFzone.com | http://www.pdfzone.com _____________________________________________________________ Sridharan, If you are using MS Windows, the number of processors is transparent to the user. The Mutex, or any of the threading objects, will operate the same way with any number of processors, all you need to worry about is your threads. If you have that working you should be ok. PDFdev is a service provided by PDFzone.com | http://www.pdfzone.com _____________________________________________________________ Hi, Leonard, Thanks a lot for the information. We don't have any control on getting updates from Adobe. To resolve the multi-threading problem we are serializing the access to PDF library using "Mutex" objects. Since our application can run as two different processes, is it possible to use Adobe's PDF library in multiple process environment simultaneously? Check with your Adobe contact as the current 6.1 version of the PDFLibrary is fully thread-safe...Assuming your PDFL license is current, you should be getting updates...
