I use an common internal representation for all the fonts which is a part of
the main system I am extending. That's why I don't have access (nor want) to
have access to the font programs themselves.

Since I started this project I already had this feeling many times: it seems
that Adobe is forgetting some basic issues and over complicating others. It
astonishes me how's a format whose main purpose is to display text, doesn't
deal with something as basic as kerning...
