If you don't have access to the font programs themselves, how do you plan to embed the font program data into the PDF!??!
Since I started this project I already had this feeling many times: it seems that Adobe is forgetting some basic issues and over complicating others.
Not really - if you consider what the purpose of PDF has been since day 1. A GUARANTEED representation of content on any platform. If the text were to kern on one machine, but not another - that wouldn't be acceptable...
It astonishes me how's a format whose main purpose is to display text,
Text, Vectors and Raster - all are equally important.
