My intuitional (?) guess would be something simple like: - say that the camera's got a 
frame counter going. When changing roll you assign that roll a number by 
selecting/pushing a button. The camera will connect that number to that frame number. 
When reloading, you pick the "roll-number" and the camera will forward the film to the 
correct frame number.
Wouldn't this be the easiest way?
