Exactly! I too, try as much as possible to "crop in the viewfinder". The more neg you can use to make a print, the better.
That being said, sometimes it can't be helped. The odd time, there's just no way I can move around to get that nasty light pole or power lines out of the viewfinder, so I snap, with the thought that I can crop later. Or, sometimes something will creep in there without my noticing (maybe because the viewfinder isn't 100%).
