Well, I may be fooling myself, but I ran tests when I first got the
printer.  Same image printed 8x10 to same paper with same ink
cartridges, differing only the number of pixels I sent the printer. 
>From 144 up to 720 dpi, the images looked better (to me) as the
resolution went up.  Above that (to 2880) no visible difference (to
me).
