But hasn't the Pentax philosophy been to make the lenses compatible across
the range.  Remove the aperture ring and you make the lens only usable on a
small range of pentax bodies. This is the approach that kn**N and **n*C
(dyslexic) take.  You wouldnt want Pentax to do that would you?
