just got a quote from my local dealer here -- *ist-D plus the 16-35 FAJ lens for.... €2000 retail (that includes a 21% sales tax if you want to work it back to dollars)
For comparison the Canon 10D sells for €2200 body only. They have a couple of *ist-Ds on order, delivery in September.
