i don't know where people get this idea that CF cards are fragile. there proven cases where the cards have been through all kinds of things they were never designed to and held up. all the verified cases that i know of data loss have been because of user error. lots of anecdotes and no proof. changing of cards is the number one danger to the data on them. the fewer the changes, the better.
