I bought a plastic dish washing pan from Wal-Mart for $0.94. Drilled a line of 1/4" holes across one end about 1-1/2" from the top. Set it in the bathtub and turned tha shower spray into it at the lowest rate that gave me a good spray. It fills up to the holes and and maintains that level.
Not a $200-500 achival washer, but seems to work as well as those $25-40 ones that work on the same principle.
