Yup, end of/beginning of the year the monsoons will bring the occasional shower. It's worse in December, and if you're lucky, you'll get a few perfect days in January. One interesting thing is that a lot the shopping centres in the city are connected, so if it rains, you'll still be able to cover much distance, hopefully til the rain eases up. Sometimes gets interesting when you've been indoors for a while and meet a friend who just got in, and you have to ask how the weather is outside, because there's no hint at all, and you might think it's dry and hot when in actual fact it's gusty and wet..
If you spend a lot of time outdoors, I suppose you'd just want a reasonable amount of silica gel in your bag too, because it really is pretty humid, and for that reason, unless you find something really snapworthy, you don't really want to have your camera round your neck when you step out of a shopping centre or when you get out of a bus.
