The camera still is not aware of the aperture set on the lens.  That's what
is missing from the *ist series.

Set an A lens off "A"  use a small aperture i.e. F16 or F22 (I did this with
one of my lenses this morning after upgrading to test it)
Set Mode dial to Manual
look in viewfinder and press green button.  the aperture won't show up (it
NEVER will with a lens off the "A" position) but the shutter speed will
change and the viewfinder will get dark for a fraction of a second.  You've
just used "stop-down" metering.
take a picture.
it should be exposed properly
