It should be possible (having had the thing fall apart more than once all on it's own) to disassemble the legs and fill each section with urethane foam, then reassemble the tripod. I can't get at my 055, I kinda buried it behind a home renovation, but I may try this when I can get to it. I don't like the thing all that much anyway, so would consider it a small loss if I made the thing worse. William Robb
